LEWISBURG, Pa. - For the second consecutive year the Bucknell men's soccer team placed a district-high three student-athletes on the ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District Team, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). Bucknell seniors Sean King (Medford, N.J./Shawnee) and Patrick Selwood (Darnestown, Md./The Heights School) were named to the all-district first team and now advance to the national Academic All-America ballot, while sophomore Tommy Caso (Phoenix, Md./McDonogh) earned second team honors.

Selwood, a team co-captain and one of the Patriot League's top defenders, earned Academic All-District honors for the second year in a row. A Second Team All-Patriot League selection a year ago, the Bison center back will make his 60th career start on Friday night when Bucknell hosts Lafayette in a nationally televised game on Fox Soccer Channel. Selwood has made four all-tournament teams in last two years, including both tournaments this season.

Off the field, Selwood carries a 3.72 cumulative grade-point average as a double major in philosophy and religion. He is one of the team's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee representatives and has served as a Eucharistic Minister with Catholic Campus Ministry. Selwood also founded the Bucknell chapter of St. Sebastian Society, an organization for Catholic student-athletes. A six-time Dean's List honoree and a three-year member of the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll, he has worked with two different law offices during his Bucknell days.

King is a first-time Academic All-District selection. The senior midfielder has been a key player all four years and an everyday starter for the last two. This season King has started all 17 games at center midfield, and he scored his first career goal against Navy on Oct. 3. That was the lone goal in a big 1-0 road win over the Midshipmen.

King, who also has two assists this season and four in his career, is an economics major with a 3.80 GPA. Like Selwood, he is a three-time Patriot League Academic Honor Roll member and a six-time Dean's List member. King was a member of a management program that built a shed for Haven Ministries, he has been a member of a Leadership Hall and was a member of the Bucknell Dining Committee.

Caso earned Academic All-District honors in his first year of eligibility for the award. He is in his second season as the Bison's starting goalkeeper, and he currently ranks second in the Patriot League with a 0.97 goals-against average. Caso is 11-4 with six shutouts this season.

A mechanical engineering major with a 3.83 GPA, Caso is a two-time Patriot League Goalkeeper of Week in 2009. He earned the Garth Stam Defensive Most Valuable Player Award at the Mayor's Cup after leading Bucknell to shutout wins over Syracuse and Hartwick for the tournament title. He is also a Patriot League Academic Honor Roll and Dean's List member.

The Bucknell men's soccer program has now had at least one Academic All-District honoree in eight of the last nine years. Bucknell has had 117 all-time national Academic All-American, the fifth-highest total among all Division I institutions. The last of those was men's soccer's Chris Hennings in 2008.

Hennings, Selwood and Jason Soto were all-district selections a year ago, and Selwood now joins Greg Beatty (1994-95), Jonathan Hemmert (2002-04) and Justin Wolf (2006-07) as multiple-time all-district choices from the Bison men's soccer program.

Bucknell is 13-4 overall and 4-1 in the Patriot League with two matches remaining in the regular season. The 13 wins are tied for second-most in the nation behind only No. 1 Akron's 16.
