PRINCETON, N.J. - Led by a first-place performance from the 400 medley relay team, the Bucknell University women's swimming team placed second out of four teams this afternoon at the Princeton Invitational.

The meet consisted of only swimming events. Bucknell's diving teams competed at the Drexel Invitational yesterday.

The men's team was also in action today, and the Bison took third out of four teams. With a team score of 447.5, Bucknell finished behind invitational champion Princeton University (1,021) and Drexel University (578) while defeating Rider University (422.5).

On the women's side, Bucknell recorded a team score of 529, good enough to defeat both Drexel (261.5) and Rider (229). Princeton captured the women's invitational title as well, finishing with a team score of 1,429.5.

Junior Darby Golino, freshman Jamie Flick, freshman Ashley Aiken and senior Abby Weaver teamed up to win the 400 medley relay in 4:03.50. The victory was the Bison's only first-place finish on the afternoon.

Both the swimming and diving squads will return to action on Jan. 4, when they travel to the Florida Atlantic University Invitational.
