Bucknell Swim Teams Finish Among Top-20 in Mid-Major Poll
April 4, 2002 LEWISBURG, Pa. -- Bucknell University's women's and men's swimming & diving teams finished the 2001-02 season ranked 15th and 17th, respectively, in CollegeSwimming.com's Mid-Major Poll. The ranking is based upon dual meet points and aims to recognize those institutions and conferences that do not benefit from the exposure of finances or television contracts. Institutions from the following conferences are eligible for consideration: America East, Big Sky, Big South, Big West, Colonial, Ivy/EISL, Metro Atlantic, Mid-America, Mid-Continent, Midwest, Mid-Eastern, Missouri Valley, Northeast, Ohio Valley, Patriot, Southern, Sun Belt, Trans America and West Coast. The Bucknell women finished the year with a 5-2 record and a 3-2 mark in the Patriot League. The Bison also took second at the Patriot League Championship at the U.S. Naval Academy Feb. 14-16, and finished just 31 points behind Navy for the league title. The women's team also established 12 new school records during the year. Bucknell's men's squad went 3-3 for the season and 2-2 in the Patriot League. At the Patriot League Championship, the Bison took fourth. Three new men's school records were also set in the 2001-02 season. CollegeSwimming.com Mid-Major Rankings
