Bucknell Men's Tennis Victorious at St. Francis (Pa.), 7-0

LORETTO, Pa. - Every player on the Bucknell men's tennis team was victorious as the squad traveled to St. Francis (Pa.) on Thursday, February 28, and defeated the Red Flash, 7-0, in Bucknell's first dual meet of the season.

The Bison won all three doubles matches on their way to a quick 2-0 start. Senior Scott Allen and junior Todd Jacobs picked up an 8-4 win at number one doubles, while senior Alex Davydov and freshman Nick Denefrio followed at second doubles with an 8-5 victory to improve their doubles record to 5-2. Bucknell's other doubles win came from the freshmen duo of Gerald DiChiara and Leland Tien. The number three pair was an 8-1 winner for the doubles sweep.

In singles action, Tien won in shutout fashion, picking up a 6-0, 6-0 decision at the sixth spot. Classmate Joe Menezes, the only singles player who did not play doubles, came from behind at third singles to win a 3-6, 6-2, 6-1 decision. DiChiara continued his winning ways, improving his singles record to 8-1 overall with a 6-1, 6-0 victory at fifth singles.

Bucknell improves to 1-0 in the spring season and will be in action next on March 12 in Hilton Head, S.C. when it takes on Georgetown College on the team's annual spring break trip.
