D-II No. 1 Barry Upends Bucknell in Men's Tennis, 8-1

MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- The Bison men's tennis team dopped an 8-1 verdict to Barry University, the No. 1-ranked Division II team in the nation, on Wednesday afternoon at Buccaneer Tennis Center. Senior Daniel Bednarek (Haworth, N.J./Bergen Catholic) accounted for Bucknell's lone point with a straight-set win at No. 6 singles.

The match was played under the Division II nine-point scoring rules, and Barry (11-0) swept the three doubles matches and the top five singles matches, including a win from fourth-ranked Ales Svigelj at No. 1.

Bednarek was a 6-4, 6-1 winner over David Barragan at No. 6 for his fourth straight singles win.

The Bison (3-5) are back in action on March 21 against Villanova at home.
