Bison Men's Tennis Drops 7-0 Decision to Norfolk State

HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. - The Bucknell men's tennis team suffered a 7-0 setback at the hands of Norfolk State University on Tuesday, March 11, 2003. The match was the second of three that the Bison will be playing on the annual spring break trip to Hilton Head Island, S.C.

The Spartans swept through doubles play, winning all three matches to easily claim the doubles point.

In singles play, senior Todd Jacobs took Dusek Viktor to three sets before finally dropping a 6-1, 0-6, 1-6 decision at number two. Freshman Asher Salam followed suit with a 3-6, 6-4, 3-6 loss at the third flight to Milan Juricka, before sophomore Joe Menezes fell in three sets at number four to Jakub Novak, 1-6, 6-0, 3-6.

Bucknell falls to 0-6 overall in the spring. The Bison are in action next on Wednesday, March 12, at 8:00 a.m. against Indiana-Purdue-Fort Wayne.

6. Stephen Charter (N) def. Aaron Saperstein - 6-4, 7-6 (4).

Doubles
1. Prokes/Novak (N) def. Denefrio/DiChiara - 8-4.
2. Sakawuyi/Juricka (N) def. Jacobs/Salam - 8-4.
