Bison Men's Tennis Falls to Coastal Carolina, 6-1

HILTON HEAD, S.C. - The Bucknell men's tennis squad fell to Coastal Carolina, 6-1, at the Hilton Head Tournament. Jonathan Brenner (Manhasser, N.Y./Chaminade) collected the Bison's lone victory against Joseph Withers in the No. 5 spot, 2-6, 6-2, 10-4. Coastal Carolina notched the first point of the afternoon after winning all three doubles matches. In the No. 2 doubles, Ira Reibeisen (Armonk, N.Y./Rye Country Day-Upper) and Zach Hascoe (Greenwich, Conn./Brunswick) were defeated by Andy Caress and Simon Taylor, 9-8(9-7). In singles play, Reibeisen lost a three-set tiebreaker to Plamen Tzvetkov, 6-3, 1-6, 10-7, in the No. 1 spot. Ryan Sandburg (Orange, Calif./Canyon) fell to Taylor in No. 2 singles, 6-2, 6-3. Ben Young (New Canaan, Conn./New Canaan) dropped his No. 3 singles match to Richard Redding, 6-1, 6-0. Hascoe was defeated by Caress in the No. 4 spot, 3-6, 7-6(7-4), 10-8, while Daniel Bednarek (Haworth, N.J./Bergan Catholic) lost to Elliott Quibell, 5-7, 6-2, 10-4, in No. 6 singles. The Orange and Blue will play Skidmore on Thursday, March 15, at 6 p.m.
