Men's Tennis Suffers First Loss of Spring, 6-0 to American

HILTON HEAD, S.C. - Bucknell's men's tennis team dropped its Patriot League opener and fell for the first time this spring, 6-0 to American in the Bison's Spring Break finale Friday morning. American captured all three doubles matches and all five singles contests that were played to conclusion. The No. 2 singles contest was stopped due to time constraints. Bucknell freshman Leland Tien was involved in the closest matches in both singles and doubles. At No. 5 singles, Tien fell to Jonah Fliegelman 6-4, 7-5. At No. 3 doubles, Tien and classmate Gerald DiChiara dropped an 8-6 decision to Tushar Garg and Andreas Kulscar. At No. 4 singles, Todd Jacobs extended Guilaume Taralle to a first set tiebreaker before succumbing 7-6 (7-2), 6-0. Also falling in straight sets for the Bison were Nick Denefrio at No. 1, Joe Menezes at No. 3 and DiChiara at No. 6. Bucknell returns to action at home on Wednesday, March 20, against Delaware at 3:30 p.m.
