Bucknell Men's Tennis Defeats IUPUI, 5-1

ORLANDO, Fla. - The Bucknell men's tennis team faced IUPUI a day later than scheduled due to Tuesday's rain, but triumphed nonetheless while taking five of the six singles matches played en route to a 5-1 win. The victory is Bucknell's second of the spring and fifth overall against four total defeats. At first singles, Bucknell's Nick Denefrio was up 4-1 when IUPUI's Brian Slack defaulted the match to Denefrio. Bucknell also won at third through sixth singles, as Asher Salam beat Marc Pyatt, 7-6(3), 7-5, Joe Menezes defeated Nick Tarvin, 6-2, 6-1, Matt Pikus beat Ross Gehlhausen, 6-1, 0-6, (10-8), and Aaron Saperstein knocked off Juan Mas, 6-7(6), 7-6(4), (10-4). Gerald DiChiara was the only Bison to fall, as the Jaguars' Luke Recker won at second single, 7-6(2), 6-2. Bucknell will start the league season far from any Patriot League confines, playing Army on the campus of Rollins College in Winter Park, Fla. On Thursday at 9 a.m.
