HILTON HEAD, S.C. - Bucknell men's tennis put five singles wins on the board, leading to a 5-1 team victory over North Georgia in Hilton Head, S.C., on Wednesday morning. The squad's success gave head coach Rebecca Helt her 200th career win despite having doubles play suspended and improved the Bison's record to 2-8 on the year.

Helt improved her career coaching record to 200-220 as both the men's and women's squads defeated North Georgia. The women swept the Saints 7-0 earlier in the day to set the coach up for the milestone victory.

The teams opened the day with singles action and won five of the six matches. Kelly Morque (Rye, N.Y./Rye) and Zach Hascoe (Greenwich, Conn./Brunswick) made quick work of their opponents. At No. 4 singles, Morque beat Brandon Sloan 6-1, 6-1, while Hascoe won over Andy McMaster 6-0, 6-0 at the sixth position.

The remaining contests were much tighter, however, as three Bison pulled out three-set wins. Anton Kovic (Montreal, Quebec/Milton Academy (Mass.)) took a first-set tiebreaker over Luciano Paes Cruz Neto, but lost the breaker in the second. Kovic came back in the end, 10-4.

Gregg Cohenca (Purchase, N.Y./Rye Country Day School) and Josh Katten (Plainview, N.Y./Plainview JFK) both had to come back from a set down for their wins. Cohenca lost the opening set 6-3 to Daniel Aguilon before winning the next two, 7-6 and 10-2. Katten fell behind Grant Partrick with a 6-4 first-set, then got the break he needed for a 6-3 win the second. The freshman closed it out 10-2 in the deciding set.

Doubles action looked to be headed in favor of the Bison as well before play was suspended due to lack of court time. All three Bison doubles teams were leading when play was called.

Bucknell is back in action following its Spring Break trip on Saturday, March 20. The Bison will face Villanova at 1:30 p.m. in Villanova, Pa.
