BU Men's Tennis Loses 6-1 Contest To Buffalo

OLEAN, N.Y. - The Bison men's tennis team suffered its fourth-straight loss of the spring, dropping a 6-1 decision to Buffalo at St. Bonaventure on Saturday, March 23. Freshman Asher Salam was Bucknell's lone singles winner in the match. Sophomore's Joe Menezes and Gerald DiChiara gave their opponents fits at the fourth and fifth singles flights, respectively, but still came out on the losing end. Menezes lost 6-2 in the first set against Josh Liederman, before bouncing back with a 6-0 win in the second. Liederman got the best of Menezes in the final set, however, winning the match with a 6-3 third set. DiChiara dropped a tough 7-5, 7-6 (4) decision to Rannga Prahudha at number five. Salam was victorious for Bucknell at number three singles, defeating Nick Zieziula 7-5, 6-3, for BU's lone point. In doubles play, the duo of Menezes and freshman Aaron Saperstein were 8-4 winners over Fery Kasiman and Rohan Raikar. The Bulls other two doubles teams earned victories to take the doubles point. Bucknell falls to 1-10 overall. The Orange and Blue will compete again on Thursday, March 27, when they host Patriot League rival Lafayette at 3:30 p.m.
