Men's Tennis Team Gets Victory at West Chester

WEST CHESTER, Pa. - Bucknell's men's tennis team improved to 4-1 on the season with a 6-1 victory at West Chester on Sunday, March 25. Bison doubles tandem Scott Allen (Berwyn, Pa./Conestoga) and Todd Jacobs (Wayne, Pa./Conestoga) picked up an 8-3 victory at the second doubles slot, and co-captains Hayes Hopple (Wilton, Conn./Saint Georges School) and Alex Davydov (Middlebury, Vt./Middlebury) teamed up at the third doubles flight to win 8-2 and earn Bucknell the doubles point. The Orange and Blue dropped the first singles flight, but picked up wins at the last five flights to take the match 6-1. Senior Jeff Gould (Coram, N.Y./Newfield) defeated his opponent at the second flight, 6-3, 6-1, before Allen won at the third singles slot, 0-6, 6-2, 7-5. Jacobs (6-2, 6-0) and Hopple (6-3, 6-0) earned victories at the fourth and fifth flights, respectively, before junior Lee Scarborough (Wilmington, Del/A.I. Dupont) won at the sixth flight, 6-0, 6-1. Bucknell improves to 4-1 overall. BU hosts St. Joseph's on Thursday, March 29, for a 3:30 p.m. match.
