Bison Men's Tennis Falls at Navy, 7-0

ANNAPOLIS, Md. - The Bison men's tennis struggles continued as the squad dropped a 7-0 decision at Navy on Saturday, March 29. The team has lost six in a row, and 12 of 13 this spring. No duo went down easily in doubles play, taking Navy to scores of 8-4, 8-5 and 8-6. The tandem of sophomore Joe Menezes and freshman Aaron Saperstein put up a fight at number three before losing 8-6 to Daniel Huynh and Matt Walton. Senior Todd Jacobs and freshman Asher Salam teamed up to face Davy Lee and Brandon Carter, falling 8-5 at number two, while sophomores Nick Denefrio and Gerald DiChiara lost 8-4 to Cameron Lickle and Chris McGrath. In singles action, the Mids swept the Bison in straight sets at every flight. Denefrio won three games against Lee before dropping a 6-1, 6-2 decision at number one. Salam nearly forced a third set at the third flight, taking four games from McGrath in the second set but eventually falling 6-0, 6-4. Bucknell drops to 1-12 on the year and 0-2 in Patriot League play. The Orange and Blue take on American in conference action at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday, March 30.
