Bucknell Men's Tennis Loses 7-0 to Navy

LEWISBURG, Pa. - The Bucknell men's tennis team dropped a 7-0 decision to Patriot League power Navy on Sunday, April 7. The Bison won only one of three doubles matches and were swept in singles action on their way to the shutout defeat.

Senior Alex Davydov and freshman Nick Denefrio teamed up at No. 2 doubles to defeat Todd Thurston and Chris McGrath, 8-6. The duo was Bucknell's only winners on the day.

Freshman Joe Menezes nearly earned the Orange and Blue a point in singles play with a challenging 6-2, 2-6, 7-6 loss to Navy's Chris McGrath.

Bucknell falls to 9-4 overall and 0-2 in Patriot League action. The Bison are back in action on Tuesday, April 9, when they travel to Towson to take on the Tigers at 3:00 p.m.

3. Chris McGrath (N) def. Joe Menezes - 6-2, 2-6, 7-6.

5. Phil Voulgaris (N) def. Todd Jacobs - 6-3, 6-2.
6. Joe Wesberger (N) def. Scott Allen - 6-3, 6-6 (4).

Doubles (Best 2-of-3 for one team point)
1. Lickle/Ryan Osgood (N) def. Allen/Jacobs - 8-3.
2. Davydov/Denefrio (B) def. Thurston/McGrath - 8-6.
3. Voulgaris/Lee (N) def. DiChiara/Leland Tien - 8-3.
