Bucknell's Men's Tennis Slides By Lafayette 4-3
April 12, 2009 LEWISBURG, Pa. - The Bucknell men's tennis program picked up a league win against Lafayette Sunday on the Fieldhouse Courts. The Bison won 4-3 to bring their record to 7-9 this spring and 2-3 in Patriot League competition. Senior Ryan Sandburg (Orange, Calif./Canyon) and sophomore Mark Malloy (Bronxville, N.Y./Hackley School) led the Bison with a two-win days. Sandburg teamed with sophomore Anton Kovic (Montreal, Quebec/Milton Academy (Mass.)) in the No. 1 doubles court to beat Lafayette's Eric Wiley and Lee Kojanis, 8-4. In singles, Sandburg beat Wiley again (6-1, 6-2). Malloy brought his career winning percentage to a team-best .757 with his two wins. In doubles, Malloy and freshman Gregg Cohenca (Purchase, N.Y./Rye Country Day School) won in No. 2 doubles (8-5) and Malloy won in his singles match against Justin Haar, 6-0, 6-2, in the third flight. Senior Daniel Bednarek (Haworth, N.J./Bergen Catholic) picked up another victory in the fifth spot of doubles to bring his spring win total to 12-4, a team best mark. The Bison will wrap up their regular season at Penn State on Wednesday, April 15, at 5 p.m. Doubles: Singles:
