Bison Men's Tennis Drops Lafayette, 7-0

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. - The Bucknell men's tennis team posted its second straight Patriot League victory after sweeping Lafayette, 7-0, inside West Branch Tennis Club, on Sunday. The Bison now 8-11 (2-3 PL) will host Binghamton on Thursday, Apr. 19, at the Bucknell Varsity Tennis Courts beginning at 3 p.m. The Bison picked up the first points of the match after winning all three doubles matches. At No. 1 doubles, the team of sophomores Jonathan Brenner (Manhasset, N.Y./Chaminade) and Ryan Sandburg (Orange, Calif./Canyon) defeated Paul Guarino and Brett Kraft, 8-4. The pair owns a 11-8 mark this season. Juniors Ira Reibeisen (Armonk, N.Y./Rye Country Day-Upper) and Ben Young (New Canaan, Conn./New Canaan) took down Matt McGranaghan and James Murphy, 8-1, in the No. 2 spot, while the duo of sophomore Daniel Bednarek (Haworth, N.J./Bergen Catholic) and Zach Hascoe (Greenwich, Conn./Brunswick) beat Eric Wiley and Lee Kojanis, 8-3, in the No. 3 spot. Brenner put Bucknell up 2-0 after defeating Kojanis, 6-1, 6-2, in the No. 4 spot. Reibeisen dropped Guarino, 6-0, 6-3, in the No. 1 spot, to make the score 3-0. He is now four wins shy of 100 for his career. In the No. 2 spot, Sandburg clinched the Bison victory over the Leopards after he took down Wiley, 6-4, 6-4. Young posted a 7-6(4), 6-2 victory over Steve Benezra in the No. 5 spot. Hascoe overcame a one set deficit to win 5-7, 6-4, 10-5, in the No. 3 spot over Kraft. Bednarek completed the Bucknell sweep with a 8-1 proset victory over McGranaghan, in the No. 6 spot.
