BALTIMORE, Md. - The Bucknell men's tennis team saw the 2003 season come to a close with a 7-0 loss at UMBC on Wednesday, April 16. The Bison end the year at 3-17 overall.

The Orange and Blue got play started slowly, losing all three doubles matches to the Retrievers.

In singles play, Nick Denefrio battled at number one with Josef Novotny, but eventually fell 7-6 (4), 6-3. Gerald DiChiara forced his fifth flight opponent to a third set before dropping a 2-6, 6-1, 10-5 match to Djan Gusmao.

Bucknell finishes the season at 3-17 overall.

2. Mikhail Kouznetsov (UMBC) def. Todd Jacobs - 6-3, 6-3.
3. James Tyler (UMBC) def. Asher Salam - 6-0, 7-5.
4. Luis Baraldi (UMBC) def. Joe Menezes - 6-0, 6-1.
5. Djan Gusmao (UMBC) def. Gerald DiChiara - 2-6, 6-1, 10-5.
6. Tommy Joyce (UMBC) def. Aaron Saperstein - 6-2, 6-3.

Doubles
1. Novotny/Baraldi (UMBC) def. Denefrio/DiChiara - 8-3.
2. Kouznetsov/Tyler (UMBC) def. Jacobs/Salam - 8-3.
3. Albert Hardja/Mike Keller (UMBC) def. Menezes/Saperstein - 8-1.
