LEWISBURG, Pa. - The Bison men's tennis team improved to 9-13 on the season with a 6-1 victory over Bloomsburg, Wednesday afternoon at the Bucknell Tennis Courts in Lewisburg, Pa. The Bison dominated doubles play, winning all three matches and came within a match of the sweep, winning five of six singles contests.

Ira Reibeisen and Asher Salam bested Mike McGrath and Mark Vellek at one doubles, 8-4. Nick Denefrio and Joe Menezes pounded Brian Bogus and Dan Gal, 8-2, at two doubles. At three doubles, Gerald DiChiara and Ben Young clobbered Mark Farnsworth and Kevin Wenck, 8-2.

Denefrio notched a win at one singles, topping McGrath, 6-4, 7-5. Joe Menezes picked up a tough win at four singles, sliding past Vellek, 6-3, 2-6, 11-9. John Lashnits also had a close call at five singles, defeating Wenck, 7-5, 1-6, 13-11. Reibeisen had a fairly effortless win at two singles, slamming Bogus, 6-0, 6-1. DiChiara won with a similar score at six singles, blasting Farnsworth, 6-1, 6-0.

Bucknell will play its final scheduled match of the season on Sunday when they travel to Newark, Del., to take on the Blue Hens of Delaware. The match is scheduled for 1 p.m. on April 24.
