Bucknell Men's Tennis Falls to No. 1 Navy, 4-0, in Patriot League Semifinal

ANNAPOLIS, Md. - On Sunday, the Bucknell men's tennis team fell to No. 1 Navy, 4-0, in the semifinals of the 2007 Patriot League Tennis Tournament. Bucknell fell to 10-13, while the Midshipmen improved to 14-10 on the season and will face either Colgate or Army in Monday's championship match. In doubles, Navy collected two out of three matches to gain the early 1-0 lead over the Bison. Freshman Zach Hascoe (Greenwich, Conn./Brunswick) and sophomore Daniel Bednarek (Haworth, N.J./Bergen Catholic) fell to Ramsey Lemaich and Alex James in the No. 3 spot, 8-2, while the junior team of Ira Reibeisen (Armonk, N.Y./Rye Country Day-Upper) and Ben Young (New Canaan, Conn./New Canaan) lost a No. 2 doubles match to Adrian Lai and Jason Hill, 8-4. Reibeisen fell to Nelms in the No. 1 spot, 6-1, 6-1, as the Midshipmen took a 2-0 lead. James dropped Young in the No. 5 spot, 6-2, 6-1, to gain a three-point advantage for the Mids. Lemaich clinched the Navy victory in the No. 6 spot after defeating Bednarek, 6-4, 6-2. The Bison will play their final regular season match on Tuesday, Apr. 24, in Newark, Del., against Delaware.
