Bucknell Men's Tennis Team Competes At Patriot League Individual Tournament

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Bucknell men's tennis team traveled to Lehigh for the Patriot League Individual Tennis Championship, held on Saturday and Sunday, October 13-14. Despite placing no individual in the finals, Saturday's competition was good experience for the squad.

The Orange and Blue duo of senior co-captain Alex Davydov (Middlebury, Vt./Middlebury) and freshman Nick Denefrio (Schenectady, N.Y./Niskayuna) provided a highlight on the day, advancing to the semifinal round with a 8-6 victory over Lafayette's number one doubles combo. Davydov and Denefrio then suffered an 8-6 loss to Navy's tandem to move into the consolations.

Play at the tournament will resume at 9:00 a.m. on Sunday.

Singles
1. Matt Coin (Lafayette) vs. Alex Davydov (Bucknell) - 6-4, 6-2.
2. Ryan Cann (Lehigh) vs. Nick Denefrio (Bucknell) - 6-3, 6-4.
3. Josh Procacci (American) vs. Scott Allen (Bucknell) - 6-0, 6-1.
4. Craig Ditman (Lehigh) vs. Todd Jacobs (Bucknell) - 6-4, 7-5.
5. Jonah Fliegelman (American) vs. #2 Leland Tien (Bucknell) - 6-2, 3-6, 6-1.
6. Joe Weisberger (Navy) vs. #2 Gerald DiChiara (Bucknell) - 6-4, 6-2.

Doubles
1. Davydov/Denefrio (Bucknell) vs. Cone Thompson/Dan Seward (Lafayette) - 8-6. Artie Peller/Davy Lee (Navy) vs. Davydov/Denefrio (Bucknell) - 8-6.
2. Kent Ball/Rafael Albornoz (Army) vs. Jacobs/Tien (Bucknell) - 8-1.
3. Procacci/Guillaume Tarralle (American) vs. Allen/DiChiara (Bucknell) - 8-3.
