PRINCETON, N.J. - Senior Alex Davydov (Middlebury, Vt./Middlebury) and freshman Nick Denefrio (Schenectady, N.Y./Niskayuna) represented the Bucknell men's tennis team at the 2001 Omni Hotels ITA Regional Championship, held at Princeton University this weekend.

Davydov was BU's lone representative in singles action as the senior co-captain competed against Brad Nudell of Penn State. Nudell handed Davydov a 7-6 (8), 6-0 defeat in the single elimination tournament.

In doubles action, Davydov and Denefrio teamed up to take on Patriot League rival Lehigh's Matt Dankner and Ryan Cann. The tandem of Dankner and Cann defeated the Bison duo, 8-2, to knock them out of contention.

The regional competition marked the final event of the fall season for the men's tennis team. The squad will be back in action in February, competing at the College of New Jersey Invitational on the 16th and 17th, to open the spring season.
