Bucknell Men's Tennis Team Picked Seventh in Patriot League Preseason Poll

Youthful Bison will challenge first-place American for the title.

LEWISBURG, Pa. - Bucknell tallied 17 points to finish seventh in a preseason poll of Patriot League coaches' and sports information directors' for the 2003 men's tennis season. The Bison finished the 2002 season with a 14-6 overall record and a mark of 2-3 in the Patriot League.

American, which garnered 10 first-place votes, was selected to win the annual Patriot League men's tennis championship with 69 points. Army finished second with two first-place votes and 57 points. Colgate and Navy both picked up one first-place nod and 51 points to tie for third place. Lehigh (25) edged out Lafayette (24) for the fifth position, and Bucknell (17 points) rounded out the poll.

The 2003 Patriot League Championship will be played April 18-19 at the highest seed.
