Bucknell's Malloy Lands on All-Patriot League Second Team
April 29, 2009 LEWISBURG, Pa. - Bucknell men's tennis sophomore Mark Malloy (Bronxville, N.Y./Hackley School), was honored by the Patriot League on Wednesday when he was selected to the All-Patriot League Second Team. The Bison's No. 3 flight player compiled a 12-6 singles record this spring and an 8-11 doubles tally. This honor makes Malloy the first Bison sophomore to be named to the All-Patriot League team since Ira Reibeisen in 2006. Malloy is only the sixth Bison to ever be named to an All-Patriot League Team. Malloy leads the current roster of Bison with the highest career winning percentage, winning .675 percent of the time (85-41). This figure puts Malloy at 15th place on Bucknell's all-time winning percentage list. With his 85 wins in two seasons, Malloy is on pace to total 170 career wins, which would better his teammate, senior Ryan Sandburg (Orange, Calif./Canyon), for first place on Bucknell's all-time wins list by 20 victories. Malloy and the fourth-seeded Bison recently made their third-straight semifinal appearance in the Patriot League Men's Tennis Tournament before losing to eventual champion and top-seeded Navy.
