Bucknell's Junior Ira Reibeisen Cops First Team All-Patriot League Honors
May 1, 2007 LEWISBURG, Pa. - Bucknell junior Ira Reibeisen (Armonk, N.Y./Rye Country Day-Upper) of the men's tennis squad was rewarded with his second consecutive First Team All-Patriot League selection, on Tuesday, by the league office. He becomes the second player in Bucknell history to receive repeat honors, joining T.K. Kelly in 1998-99. Reibeisen accumulated a singles record of 12-9 with a 3-2 mark against Patriot League foes while playing in the No. 1 spot of the lineup. In doubles play, he teamed with junior Ben Young (New Canaan, Conn./New Canaan) for an 11-7 record and also posted a 2-4 showing with freshman Zach Hascoe (Greenwich, Conn./Brunswick) while playing in the No. 1 and No. 2 spots for an overall record of 13-11. Towards the end of the season, Reibeisen became the fourth player in school history to record over 100 career victories. He has a mark of 57-40 in singles matches and a 44-43 showing in doubles play for an overall record of 101-83. The Armonk, N.Y., native, is currently tied for third place with Hall of Famer Ed Hess for career victories. Reibeisen needs seven wins to pass recent graduate Asher Salam (107-105) for the top spot.
In 2007, the Bison finished the season with a 10-14 (2-2 PL) performance and a trip to the Patriot League Men's Tennis semifinals.
