Danielle Hobson-Lynch begins her fifth season with the Bison, working with the sprinters, middle distance runners and hurdlers. She also directs the program's community service initiatives and Sideline Coaches Program, serves as an academic advisor, plays a large role in the recruiting process and works with the Spiked Shoe Club. Hobson-Lynch coached recent graduate Kerry Boyle to four individual Patriot League titles -- three in the 400 meters and one in the 200 -- and three school records. Boyle is also an IC4A and NCAA regional qualifier. She also coached graduate and IC4A and NCAA regional qualifier Kevin MacLeod to win back-to-back league titles in the 400-meter intermediate hurdles and to set a school record in the 60-meter hurdles, while rising senior and IC4A qualifier Andrew Yehl smashed a 12-year-old school mark in the 110-meter hurdles and won the league title in the 60-meter hurdles in 2009. On the women's side Hobson coached graduate Megan Hathaway to three individual Patriot League titles in both the indoor 500m and outdoor 800m. Hathaway is also an ECAC and NCAA regional qualifier and school record holder in the 500m. Hobson-Lynch made her coaching debut at The United States Military Academy at West Point where she worked with the men and women sprinters and hurdlers for two seasons. While on the staff for the Black Knights, she helped the men's team win two Patriot League outdoor titles as well as an IC4A outdoor title. Hobson-Lynch has attained USATF Level I and II Certifications in Sprints, Hurdles & Relays, Combined Events and Endurance Running and is also a Women's Coaching Academy graduate and a member of the Black Coaches Association. A graduate of Rutgers, Hobson-Lynch competed in the sprints, hurdles and multi events and was elected co-captain and MVP as a senior. She clocked a 400-meter hurdle time of 58.28 and competed at the NCAA Championships, USATF National Championships and in the 2004 US Olympic Trials. While at Rutgers, Hobson-Lynch double majored in anthropology and geography. In her spare time, Hobson is an active member of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority Incorporated. She helps to organize community service projects such as Diaper Drives, campaigns to support victims of domestic violence and women's health and civil treatment education. Hobson-Lynch is pursuing a master's degree in education at Bucknell, and she resides in Harrisburg, Pa., with her husband, Tony Lynch, and daughter, Olivia. |
