UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - The Bucknell men's and women's track and field team closed out the first day of competition at the Penn State National Invitational on Friday evening.

Sophomore Andrew Yehl (Elizabethtown, Pa./Elizabethtown) ran a season-best time in the 60-meter hurdles prelim (8.44) to finish 35th and notch the third-fastest time in Bucknell history.

In the weight throw, senior James Meyer (Pac. Palisades, Calif./Pacific Palisades) threw a season-best distance of 54-10 for 12th place.

On the women's side in the weight throw senior Amanda Mockbee (Hudson, Ohio/Hudson) placed 22nd, recording a distance of 48-2 while sophomore Chelsey Musante (Shelton, Pa./Shelton) was right behind in 23rd (47-11 ¼).

The Penn State National Invitational will resume on Saturday.
