Bucknell Men's and Women's Track and Field Finishes Sam Howell Invitational at Princeton

PRINCETON, N.J. The Bucknell men's and women's track and field teams concluded a two-day meet at Princeton University, turning in several top performances at the Sam Howell Invitational, April 4-5.

On day two freshman Laura Rycek (Northamton, Pa./Northampton Area) led the way with an ECAC-qualifying mark and a new second-best mark in program history of 139-11, winning the javelin throw.

Freshman Sarah Moniz (Topsfield, Mass./Masconomet Regional) won the 3,000-meter run, posting the seventh-fastest time in Bucknell history 10:08.21, while junior Nicole Falcaro (Dingmans Ferry, Pa./Delaware Valley) followed in second with a time of 10:18.92.

Sophomore Laura Cundy (Sewell, N.J./Washington Township) recorded a top finish of third in the 1,500-meter run with a time of 4:52.17. In the men's 1,500, sophomore Kyle Ramer (Landisville, Pa./Hempfield) took second with a time of 3:59.65, while junior Clinton Orloski (Butler, Pa./Slippery Rock) followed in third with a time of 4:00.35.

Sophomore Allison Janda (Plymouth, Mich./Salem) led Bucknell in the 400-meter dash, placing 13th with a time of 59.01, while in the 100-meter dash, sophomore Kristin Steele (Shiremanstown, Pa./Trinity) placed 12th, stopping the clock at 13.14 and in the 800-meter run, junior Jenny Dalzell (Linwood, N.J./Mainland Regional) took fourth with a time of 2:14.92. In the men's 800-meter run, senior Brian Mooney (Rochester, NY/Gates-Chili) placed seventh in 1:55.17.

 

 

In the 400-meter hurdles sophomore Kelsey Coffin (Somerville, N.J./Somerville) finished in 12th in 1:10.38, while sophomore Thomas Vogler (Oneonta, N.Y./Oneonta) took 18th on the men's side with a time of 58.18. In the 110-meter hurdles, sophomore Ryan White (Elkins Park, Pa./Father Judge) took seventh, stopping the clock at 15.67.

In field events on day two, sophomore Chelsey Musante (Shelton, Pa./Shelton) took fifth in the shot put with a distance of 40-10 ¼, while sophomore Emily Moles (Wayne, Pa./Conestoga) led the Bison in the high jump with a mark of 5-1 for 11th. Freshman Casey Krause (Cebanon, Pa./Cedar Crest) posted the top distance for Bucknell in the long jump, placing eighth with a mark of 17-4 ¾. In the triple jump, senior Nicole Ayala (Reading, Pa./Holy Name) led the Bison with a distance of 35-4 ½.

On the men's side, freshman Nicholas Hruch (Sykesville, Md./Liberty) posted a height of 6-4 ¾ for fourth, while freshman Daniel Kubinski (Erie, Pa./Cathedral Preparatory School) led the way with a fourth-place finish (45-1/2). Additionally, freshman Michael Deatherage (Montclair, N.J./Montclair Kimberly Academy) took sixth in the javelin (181-11).

Top finishers for Bucknell on Day One included senior Erin Cranmer-Hart (Slippery Rock, Pa./Slippery Rock) running the 10th-fastest time in Bucknell history (17:34.65) to place 12th in the event. Senior Offeibea Hanson-Hall (New Rochelle, NY/New Rochelle) placed ninth in the 1,500-meter run with a time of 4:44.59, while Musante placed eighth in the hammer throw with a distance of 146-11. Senior Courtney Lynch (Glen Mills, Pa./Archmere Acad.) finished 15th in the discus (102-03) and senior Ashley Curry (Lewistown, Pa./Lewistown Area) posted a height of 10-8 in the pole vault to place 13th. On the men's side, sophomore Conor McNamara (Baldwin, N.Y./Chaminade) took 13th in the 1,500-meter run with a time of 4:01.41 and sophomore Jonathan Lockhart (Chesapeake, Va./Great Bridge) placed 23rd in the discus with a distance of 123-05.

Bucknell is now set to host the Bison Outdoor Classic next weekend, April 11-12, at Christy-Mathewson-Memorial Stadium.
