LEWISBURG, Pa. - On Saturday, the Bucknell men's and women's track and field teams participated in the final day of competition at the Bison Outdoor Classic at Christy Mathewson-Memorial Stadium. Junior Beverly Rogers (Finleyville, Pa./Ringgold) notched a first-place showing in the javelin with a distance of 142 feet, 8 inches (43.50m), which earned her a spot in the NCAA East Regional and ECAC Championships in May.

Junior Amanda Mockbee (Hudson, Ohio/Hudson) along with seniors Kathleen Hart (Delmar, N.Y./Bethlehem Central) and Marjorie Grap (Van-Etten, N.Y./Spencer-Van Etten) finished second thru fourth, respectively, in the discus and qualified for the ECAC Championships. Mockbee threw a distance of 141-8 (43.19m). Hart launched a distance of 139-9 (42.61m), while Grap posted a distance of 139-8 (42.57m).

Junior Denise Manero (Perkasie, Pa./Pennridge) placed third in the triple jump with a mark of 36-9 ½ (11.21m), while freshman Stephanie Evans (York, Pa./Central York) finished fourth with a mark of 35-7 ¾ (10.86m). Sophomore Kati Dempsey (Saylorsburg, Pa./Pleasant Hills) finished fourth in the long jump with a distance of 17-8 ¾ (5.40m), which ranks her ninth all-time at Bucknell. Freshman Megan Hathaway (North Tonawanda, N.Y./Niagara Wheatfield) posted a fourth-place finish in the 400-meters with a time of 58.58 seconds.

 

 

For the men, junior Brian Mooney (Rochester, N.Y./Gates-Chili) placed fourth in the 800 with a time of 1:53.99. Junior James Meyer (Pac. Palisades, Calif./Pacific Palisades) 147-0 (44.81m), which was good for fourth place. Freshman Ryan White (Elkins Park, Pa./Elizabethtown) placed second in the decathlon with 5,809 points. Freshman Jason Inzana (Birdsboro, Pa./Daniel Boone) cleared a height of 15-3 (4.65m) to earn him a fourth-place finish and ranks him tied for fourth all-time

Bucknell will host its Bucknell Team Challenge on Saturday, Apr. 21, at Christy Mathewson-Memorial Stadium. The meet will begin with the field events at 10 a.m.
