PRINCETON, N.J. - The first day of competition at the ECAC/IC4A Championships concluded late Friday evening for Bucknell track and field at the William Weaver Track and Field Stadium in Princeton, N.J. The Bison wrapped-up action in the women's discus and the men's and women's 5000-meter run.

With four events down, the Orange and Blue still have 17 left to compete in, over the course of the three-day Championships.

In the women's discus, sophomore Amanda Mockbee (Hudson, Ohio/Hudson) turned in Bucknell's best throw of the night, a heave of 136 feet, eight inches, for 11th place overall. Junior Marjorie Grap (Van Etten, N.Y./Spencer-Van Etten) turned in the same mark as Mockbee, just a few centimeters behind, however, and turned in a 12th-place ranking.

In the men's 5000, sophomore Wallace Campbell (Montgomery, Ala./Montgomery Acad.) finished in 14 minutes, 34.49 seconds for 16th overall, while junior Jenny Stevens (Laceyville, Pa./Wyalusing Valley) finished the women's race in 19th place, with a time of 17:24.08.

Competition for the Bison will resume on Saturday with junior Nina Reinhardt (Northport, N.Y./Northport) participating in the heptathlon, beginning at 9:30 a.m.
