Bucknell Indoor Track and Field Members Look For Qualifying Numbers
March 2, 2003 LEWISBURG, Pa. - Members of the Bucknell's Men's Indoor Track and Field team looked to grab automatic bids to the NCAA Championship, while participating in various meets on the east coast. Noel Powell took part in the USA Indoor Track and Field Championships, in Boston, Mass., while Adam Jacob traveled to Virginia Tech, Blacksburg, Va. Jacob cleared 15'5" in the pole vault, four inches short of qualifying for a provisional entry to the NCAA Championships. He tied for seventh at the Virginia Tech Last Chance Meet. Jacob captured his career best with this weekend's mark, and stands tied for third on Bucknell's all-time chart. On Jan. 25, 2003, Powell qualified provisionally for the NCAA Championship with a leap of 25' in the long jump. Powell competed in the USA Indoor Track and Field Championships looking to jump deeper into the pit and to earn a bid to the World Championships. He jumped 24'6.5" (7th) at this weekend's national championship.
The Bison will compete in the IC4A Championships on Mar. 8-9 in Boston, Mass.
