Noel Powell Earns Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference Athlete of the Week
April 13, 2004 LEWISBURG, Pa. - Bucknell's Noel Powell (Tamaqua, Pa./Tamaqua) was selected as the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conferences Men's Track Athlete of the Week for his two victories at the Bison Outdoor Classic this past weekend. He was also named the Patriot League Men's Track Athlete of the Week earlier today for his accomplishments. Powell earns the honor for winning both the 100-meter and 200-meter dashes at Bucknell's meet. He qualified for IC4A competiton next month by finishing the 200 in 21.72 seconds, while winning the 100 in 10.96 seconds. It is the second time Powell has been honored by the ECAC this year, as he was named the Men's Field Athlete of the Week on Jan. 17 after winning the long jump at the Bucknell Octagonal during the indoor season.
The Bucknell track and field squads will be back in action on Saturday in the Bucknell Quadrangular, the last home meet of the 2003-04 school year.
