LEWISBURG, Pa. - Senior Joshua Kaehler (Hanover, Pa./South Western) and freshman Steven Pierce (Ridgewood, N.J./Ridgewood) of the Bucknell men's track and field team were selected as the Patriot League Male Field Performer and Rookie of the Week, respectively, for their stellar showings at the Penn Relays in Philadelphia, Pa., this past weekend.

Kaehler won his third javelin title of the spring in the college division of the Penn Relays with a throw of 218 feet, 6 inches (66.06m), which was an NCAA East Regional and IC4A Championship qualifying mark. His mark also ranks him second all-time in Bucknell history. Kaehler became the fourth different Bison male field athlete to be honored for this award this spring. He also tops the league in the event.

Pierce, who has earned this award for the third time this spring, placed third in the college division of the javelin with an NCAA East Regional and IC4A distance of 210-2 (64.07m). He currently ranks third all-time in the event and has the second-best mark in the Patriot League behind Kaehler.

Bucknell will look for its first league championship since 1991 at the 2007 Patriot League Men's Track and Field Championships in Bethlehem, Pa., on the campus of Lehigh. The meet will begin on Friday, May 4, at the 1 p.m., with the men's decathlon and the men's javelin.
