Frake Earns Lewisburg Hotel Bison Athlete of the Week Honors

Senior Thrower Honored for his Performance at the IC4A Championships

LEWISBURG, Pa. - Senior Dan Frake (Northport, N.Y./Northport) was honored with the Lewisburg Hotel Bison Athlete of the Week honors for the week ending May 14. Frake, of the Bucknell men's track and field team, turned in a career-performance in the hammer throw on Saturday at the IC4A Championships.

Frake placed third in the event with a personal-record toss of 200 feet, 2 1/2 inches, setting the Orange and Blue's all-time second-best throw. The heave also currently ranks him 38th in the nation.

The Northport, N.Y., native also placed 16th in the shot put with a distance of 49-10.

Earlier in the season, Frake hit the NCAA Eastern Regional qualifying mark in the hammer, at 189.

The Bison will have two weeks off, before competing at the Regionals, scheduled for May 26-27, in Greensboro, N.C.
