Bucknell Graduates Run At Olympic Trial Marathon

LEWISBURG, Pa - Two Bucknell University graduates and former Bison track and field team members ran among America's top men's distance runners at the 2008 Olympic Team Trials Marathon, this past Saturday. Greg Costello ('03) and Terrance Shea ('96) were two of 128 runners who competed in Saturday morning's marathon, which took place at New York City's Central Park.

The marathon began at the Rockefeller Center and the course ran past Radio City Music Hall, Times Square and Carnegie Hall, before entering the loops in Central Park which included one four-mile circuit followed by four five-mile circuits.

Costello, a member of the Nike Central Elite Racing Team out of Chicago, Ill., finished the Olympic Trial Marathon in 2 hours, 20 minutes and 28 seconds for 42nd place. Shea, a member of the Boston Athletic Association out of Cambridge, Mass., ran the course in 2:23:44 for 61st place.

Making the 2008 Olympic team after finishing third in the Olympic Trial marathon was Ryan Sell, who Bucknell head coach Kevin Donner coached during his tenure at Saint Francis (Pa.). Sell, the 2007 USA 25K champion and an All-American for cross country in 2000, finished the course in 2:11:40 to take third. Sell runs with the Hansons-Brooks Distance Project out of Rochester Hills, Mich.
