PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Bucknell men's water polo team opened the Eastern Championship with an 18-8 loss at the hands of 12th-ranked Queens College on November 16. The tournament is being held at Brown University on November 16-17.

The Orange and Blue held a 2-1 lead after one quarter before Queens exploded for five goals in the second to carry a 6-5 advantage into halftime. The Knights came out charged in the second half, scoring 12 goals while limiting Bucknell to just three for the convincing victory.

Elliot Benoist, Daniel Lonnerdal and Bradley Roslyn each scored twice for the Bison, while Roslyn led the squad with two assists for four points. Jay Danforth also helped on two goals and scored one of his own, and the sprinter won two of four sprints.

Goalkeeper Ernest Martin recorded six saves in the contest. Lonnerdal and Scott Afzal were the team leaders in ejections drawn with three each.

Bucknell is 10-18 overall and will face #19 Brown in the next game.
