Grove City, Pa. --- In a full day of competition, coach John Ziegler's men's water polo team swept the competition winning all three matches. With the three victories this afternoon, the Orange and Blue improve to 17-16 overall on the season.

Leading the water polo squad in its first contest versus Slippery Rock, freshman Jaime Saettele (St. Louis, Mo./Ladue Horton Watkins) tallied four goals and two steals. Adding to the Bucknell punch were seniors Tate Greditzer (St. Louis, Mo./John Burroughs) and Kevin Permisohn (Silver Spring, Md./Springbrook) with two goals apiece. Junior goalkeeper David Kennedy (St. Louis, Mo./St. Louis Country Day) kept the Slippery Rock offense at bay only allowing them four goals while making 10 saves and four steals.

In its second victory of the day against Washington & Jefferson, Bucknell was led by the scoring of Greditzer and sophomore Dan Lonnerdal (Davis, Calif./Davis) with three goals each. Also having a strong contest for the Orange and Blue was Saettele with two goals and junior Ryan McCarty (St. Louis, Mo./St. Louis Country Day) recording two goals and three ejections drawn. Playing in his first game of the weekend, freshman goalkeeer Ryan Gens (Owings Mills, Md./McDonogh School) recorded 14 saves in Bucknell's victory.

Attempting to sweep the competition in its last contest versus Penn State-Behrend, the Bison were led to victory lane by a strong offensive showing from freshman Scott Afzal (Ellicott City, Md./McDonogh School). Afzal scored three goals in the game and recorded one assist. In his second game of the day, Gens recorded five saves in net for the Bison.

The water polo team will return to action next weekend, October 27-28, when they compete at the ECAC tournament in Princeton, N.J.
