PRINCETON, N.J. - The Bucknell men's water polo team captured an 11-8 victory over Washington and Jefferson on the first day of the Southern Division Championships in Princeton, N.J. The Bison improve to 9-15 with the win on Friday, Nov.1.

In the first quarter, the Bison pulled ahead with a 4-3 score. Bucknell's tight defense held Washington and Jefferson in the second, 2-0. In the third quarter, the Orange and Blue kept the lead, but allowed two goals to one in scoring. Bucknell completed a repeat of the first quarter in the final showing with a 4-3 tally and captured the 11-8 victory for the evening.

The Bison got three goals each from Daniel Lonnerdal and Bradley Roslyn, and two from Elliot Bonoist. Also tallying one point each for Bucknell were Adam Yerks, James Danforth and Brad Unroe. Roslyn added a team-high four assists.

On defense, Bucknell marked seven total steals which were broken down to dual steals from Roslyn, Yerks, and Danforth. Ernest Martin was in the cage for the Bison, recording five saves.

Bucknell improves to 9-15 overall and will face Slippery Rock in the second game of the championship at 9:40 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 2.
