ANNAPOLIS, Md. - Bucknell senior men's water polo player Ryan McCarty (St. Louis, Mo./St. Louis Country Day School) scored four of Bucknell's six goals, but it was not enough as the Navy Midshipmen defeated the Bison, 8-6, in Southern Division Championship action on Saturday evening. The tournament is being held at Navy on Friday-Sunday, November 2-4.

In addition to his four scores, McCarty also doled out one assist and had one ejection drawn against the 12th-ranked Mids. Sophomore Jamie Saettele (St. Louis, Mo./Ladue Horton Watkins) got involved offensively, scoring once and recording a team-high three assists.

Defensively, senior David Kennedy (St. Louis, Mo./St. Louis Country Day School) recorded a season-best 20 saves, despite allowing eight goals. The 20 saves are just four shy of a school record. Kennedy and freshman Eliot Benoist (St. Louis, Mo./St. Louis Country Day School) shared the team-lead with three steals each.

Bucknell falls to 11-15 overall and will face either Johns Hopkins or Princeton at 12:45 p.m. on Sunday.
