ANNAPOLIS, Md. - The Bucknell men's water polo team competed in its first game of the weekend at the Eastern Championship, being held at Navy on Saturday and Sunday, November 15-16. The Bison dropped a 10-6 decision to St. Francis (N.Y.), the 15th-ranked team in the country.

The first quarter was even as the two teams played to a 1-1 tie. St. Francis (N.Y.) got the edge in the second, carrying a 3-1 lead into halftime. The Terriers built a 6-3 advantage entering the final frame, and led by as many as 7-3 late in the game. The Bison came charging back and cut it to 7-6 with three minutes remaining, but could not manage another score as St. Francis (N.Y.) went on to win 10-6.

Junior Jay Danforth was BU's top offensive performer with three goals. Danforth also led the team with three steals and two ejections drawn. Classmate Aaron Platshon had two goals and three assists to help in the offensive effort. Sophomore Bradley Roslyn scored the other goal for the Orange and Blue.

Sophomore Trevor Mullins made seven saves for Bucknell.

The Bison are 9-19 overall. The Orange and Blue face MIT at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday night for a chance to advance to the fifth-place game on Sunday.
