LEWISBURG, Pa. - The Bucknell men's water polo team placed three student-athletes, Peter O'Keefe, Jared Gray and Trevor Mullins, on both the American Water Polo Coaches Association and Collegiate Water Polo Association All-Academic teams for the 2004 season. Additionally, Bucknell's team grade point average of 3.07 during the fall semester was the ninth best in the country.

The two associations cite players who have attained a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.20, and were a starter or significant reserve.

As a team, the Bison improved on their 3.04 grade point average and 11th-place showing from last year.

Mullins, a junior, made his second appearance on both teams, while O'Keefe and Gray, both freshmen, were honored for the first time. O'Keefe and Gray were listed under "Superior Achievement," having established a GPA between 3.41 and 3.70. Mullins earned "Excellent Achievement" plaudits for a GPA between 3.20 and 3.40.

Bucknell finished its 2004 season with a 17-14 record, its most wins since it posted a 21-21 mark in 2000. It was also the first time the Bison finished above .500 since 1999.
