LEWISBURG, Pa. - Bucknell freshman wrestler Eric Lapotsky (Mount Carmel, Pa./Mount Carmel Area) was named the Damon's Bison Athlete of the Week on Monday after posting a 4-0 record with three pins at the Hoosier Duals last Saturday. Lapotsky becomes the second wrestler this season to earn the honor as classmate Andy Rendos (Brockway, Pa./Brockway Area) was recognized with the accolade one week ago.

The Bison went 1-4 at the Hoosier Duals on Nov. 25 as the squad faced tough competition from Oregon, Ohio, 18th-ranked Indiana and Appalachian State.

Lapotsky helped Bucknell to a 32-12 victory over Appalachian State, clinching the win by pinning Brandon Brothers 1:33 into the bout between the 197-pounders. In the first dual of the day, Lapotsky pinned Oregon's Chris Robertson in 34 seconds and later pinned Larry Reichard of Ohio in 2:24.

Against the Hoosiers, Lapotsky prevented a shutout by Indiana, winning his bout at 197, 6-3 over Justin Curran. On the season, Lapotsky is now 8-3 with a 5-2 duals record and leads the Orange and Blue in pins with six.

Bucknell (3-5, 0-1 EIWA) will return home this Saturday, Dec. 2, when the team will play host to a tri-meet. The Bison are slated to face Princeton at 5 p.m. and Binghamton at 6:30 p.m. in Davis Gym.
