Bison Women's Basketball Alumni Game a Success
Feb. 21, 2004 LEWISBURG, Pa. - The Bucknell women's basketball program hosted thirteen former players for the 2004 alumni game on Saturday, February 21. The game was played on the day off between Bucknell's final two home games of the season. The Bison defeated Lafayette 81-63 on Friday evening, and host Army Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m. In the alumni contest, the Blue team got a balanced effort from all its members to come away with the 40-37 victory. Members of the Blue squad were Steph Buck '82, Maribel Castillo '02, Lyndsey Earhart '00, Lori Houck '00, Kate Rounsley '02, Chiara Sockel '97, and Hall-of-Famer Lynne Walshaw '89.
Despite getting a game-high 12 points from Jen Winhofer '00, and an impressive 17 rebound performance from Shannon McGowan '97, the undermanned White team still came up on the short end. Other players wearing white were Leslie Blue '99, Kate Franks '03, Stacey Spitko '88, and Karin Wegener '79. Spitko and Wegener are both also members of the Bucknell Athletic Hall of Fame.
