Bucknell Women's Crew Competes in the Murphy's Cup

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - On Saturday, Bucknell's women's crew team competed in the Murphy's Cup in the Schuylkill River, in Philadelphia.

The women's varsity lightweight eight placed first in front of University of Delaware and Villanova. The varsity lightweight eight included, Kyra Harris, Jill Harrington, Vi Ngo, Lauren Ewald, Kara Schroepfer, Lauren Donnelly, Joan Wendler, Alexis Will and Rachel Trusheim.

"The varsity lightweight eight had a fulfilling race," mentioned head coach Steve Kish. "It was an inspirational performance and prepared us for the next three weeks.

The novice eight boat won their heat and placed third in n eight boat final. The novice eight included, Alison Solano, Teal Zeisler, Natalie Wiest, Meredith Cutting, Allison DeKnight, Lisa Kim, Amanda Roof, Ashley White and Amy Bossler.

The novice four qualified for the finals and placed 5th. The varsity four also qualified for the finals and placed sixth. The second novice eight boat also had a good race.

Bucknell crew will travel to Worcester, Mass., on Sunday, April 27, to part-take in a five-team meet. Other schools that will be competing are Army, Colgate, Holy Cross and Lafayette.
