According to Head Coach Heather Lewis: "Katie is one of our most creative players on the ball and her stick handling skills enable her to draw numerous penalty corners on our attacking end. I have watched Katie's confidence grow immensely through our `07 spring season and I feel like she's ready to end her career playing some of her best hockey ever. In addition, she will play a vital role in the leadership of this program. Not only will her work ethic set her apart but Katie will provide the accountability and team-oriented approach critical to championship play." 2006: Saw significant action in 15 of 17 games ... recorded five shots and two assists ... both assists came on direct penalty corner shots by Callista Costopoulos ... defensively had one interception and two positive tackles ... named to the NFHCA All-Academic squad and Patriot League Academic Honor Roll with a 4.0 GPA for the fall semester 2005: Started five contests and played in a total of 15 ... scored three goals, including two game-winners against Colgate and Towson - both in the final minutes ... recorded seven interceptions and three positive tackles ... had an excellent spring in terms of improved defensive efforts ... named to both the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll and NFHCA All-Academic Squad 2004: Sat out the fall season while completing ACL rehab ... had a very productive spring season ... demonstrated exceptional off-ball movement on the attacking end ... has very good field awareness ... named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll and NFHCA National Academic Squad Personal: Twin sisters graduated from Bucknell in 2005 ... a two-sport standout in field hockey and lacrosse while in high school ... graduated from West Chester East High School and played for Diane Horsey ... a dual major in economics & political science ... the daughter of John & Patty Leinen | |||||||||||||||||||
