According to Head Coach Heather Lewis: “Sonja, by the nature of her position and her experience, will be the anchor of our defensive unit this season. She is an exceptional goalkeeper and has worked very hard this past spring to improve on her weaknesses. I would expect her to be one of the best, if not the best, goalkeepers in the Patriot League in 2002. Her reaction skills are excellent; she takes absolute command of her circle and the defense in front of her. Honestly, I struggle to find many weaknesses in her game. What will be key for us, given how young our field players are, is the experience and poise Sonja will bring to the defensive end. She’ll be a tremendous leader and a steady influence on this team in 2002.” | |||||||||||||||||
