Lehigh Tops Bucknell 2-0 In Field Hockey

BETHLEHEM, Pa.- Heather Majczan and Cindy Tindall scored goals off penalty corners to lead Lehigh past Bucknell 2-0 in a Patriot League field hockey game Saturday afternoon at Ulrich Field. The Mountain Hawks won for the first time in 2001, improving to 1-8 and 1-2 in league play, while the Bison fell to 5-4, 1-2.

Majzcan scored 16:48 into the contest, and Tindall added an insurance tally in the final two minutes of regulation. Brynn Murphy picked up the shutout in goal for Lehigh. Sonja Wettergreen made two saves for the Bison, who were outshot 13-12.

Bucknell had not been held scoreless in more than a year. The Bison were blanked at Holy Cross last Sept. 16, 22 games ago.

Bucknell visits Penn State this Tuesday at 7 p.m.
