COLLEGE FIELD HOCKEY - Cornell 2, Bucknell 1

ITHACA, N.Y. - The Bucknell field hockey team suffered a 2-1 loss at Cornell in non-conference action on Tuesday, October 24. The Bison fall to 8-9 overall, while the Big Red improve to 8-5 on the year.

Bucknell and Cornell battled through the entire first half, and 25 minutes of the second frame without a score. With 8:39 remaining in the contest, Bison junior Dena Ebert (West Long Branch, N.J./Shore Regional) received a pass from classmate Erin Plasteras (West Long Branch, N.J./Shore Regional) to break the scoreless tie and put the Orange and Blue up, 1-0. But the host team, Cornell, answered with a score of its own just three minutes later to tie the game again, 1-1.

Just 1:19 later, Big Red senior Amy Galebach blasted home the game-winner to lead the Cornell team to the come-from-behind victory.

Bucknell will be in action again on Saturday, October 28, at Georgetown for a 12:00 noon game.
