LEWISBURG, Pa. - The National Field Hockey Coaches Association announced today that the Bucknell field hockey squad had the third-highest team GPA in the nation during the fall semester. LaSalle won the Division I National Academic Award with a combined GPA of 3.50.

The Bison, who finished fourth in last year's rankings, earned a GPA of 3.41 during the fall season, behind only LaSalle and Stanford (3.42). Rounding out the top five were Georgetown (3.39) and Siena (3.38). All six Patriot League schools were recognized for having a GPA over 3.0 but the Bison were the only school to make the top five.

The Bison finished the 2004 campaign at 6-13 overall, 1-4 in league play, with four Bison earning spots on the All-Patriot League second-team.
