Bucknell Receives Votes in NFHCA Collegiate Field Hockey Poll
Sept. 9, 2003 Lewisburg, Pa. - The weekly National Field Hockey Coaches Association poll was released today, and Bucknell received three nominations from among the 28 voters to be included in the top-20 poll. At 2-0, the Bison are off to their best start since 1994, when they won their first three games. Bucknell has the opportunity to equal that start on Sunday, when it visits Monmouth.
Looking ahead, the Bison will have no easy road to victory when they play the first game on their new artifical turf field, Graham Field, on Sept. 20 against Holy Cross. The Crusaders received 17 votes to be included in the poll. One of Bucknell's most difficult tests of the season will be on October 21, when the Bison visit No. 4 Penn State. La Salle, BU's opponent on October 7, is the only other opponent to have received votes in the weekly poll, with one.
