Lindsey Gentel Wins Athlete of the Month for Field Hockey
Oct. 4, 2002 LEWISBURG, Pa. -- Bucknell junior Lindsey Gentel (Sudbury, Mass./Lincoln-Sudbury) has received the September Athlete of the Month for field hockey from local co-sponsors K.I.C.K.S. Marshall Arts for Women and Curves for Women. The award was announced at the monthly Bucknell Women's Sports Luncheon, held Thursday, Oct. 3. Sponsored by K.I.C.K.S. Marshall Arts for Women and Curves for Women, the luncheon recognizes one outstanding student-athlete from each Bucknell women's sport in season at that time. The other winners for the month of September, as selected by their respective coaches, were senior Melanie Ghiz in volleyball, senior Theresa Dennis for cross country and senior Tara Utchel for soccer. Gentel is a third year participant with the Bison and a two-year letter winner. She has started in all 10 contests the Bison have played and has tallied three shots on goal. Gentel is also a tri-captain for the Bucknell.
The Bison will play host to Patriot League contender Lehigh, Saturday, Oct. 5 at 1 p.m.
